From the street to the shop floor
I have sold water activities to tourists on the street, sportswear in a shop, and did my degree internship at a BMW and MG dealership. Each place taught me a different way of talking to a customer.
I am Lucas Eiris Ruzo, from Tenerife. Less than a year ago a light bulb went on and I started my own business. Today I help businesses get found and sell better, with no tricks.
I have sold water activities to tourists on the street, sportswear in a shop, and did my degree internship at a BMW and MG dealership. Each place taught me a different way of talking to a customer.
At the dealership I was the rookie who could not get anything right. Mistake after mistake, I started to think I was not cut out for this. But that experience taught me the most important thing I know:
Selling is not about the gift of the gab. It is about understanding the customer, asking good questions, knowing what you sell and taking an opportunity all the way to the close.
I handle every project from start to finish with radical honesty aimed at mutual benefit. In a meeting I do not sit down as a salesperson: I sit down as someone who wants to understand your problem and help you solve it, even if the answer is that you do not need me.
“Partnership is where the power lies. That is what sets me apart.”
I do not want to stop at selling a product and earning a commission. My path is to go from selling to generating business, then to running sales operations and, over time, to supporting companies through their whole growth as a growth partner.
I am not here to tell you a story that already happened: I am in the middle of my journey as an entrepreneur and I share it as it is, what works and what does not. If you want to follow it, I am on LinkedIn.
